
Since Yoav Kutner left Magento following his sale to ebay, we have followed the rest of his journey and in particular the creation of Oro Inc with his other former collaborators from Magento, a little over 5 years ago.
The first solution brought to the market by Oro Inc was OroCRM. The first Open Source CRM designed for multi-channel commerce appeared 5 years ago, offering a multitude of features and basic integrations with platforms such as Magento, Zendesk or Mailchimp. Just as we believed in Magento a little over a decade ago, we believe that the solutions offered by Oro have good ways to solve the problems faced by merchants in 2019 in the eCommerce field. They have many features designed from the beginning to be efficient and scalable, technical foundations thanks to the Symfony framework and are easier to integrate into a heterogeneous information system. We also believe that the alignment of the planets is favorable to the emergence of OroCRM as well as OroCommerce, just like in the days of Magento. Oro arrives at a key moment where although many CRM or ecommerce solutions exist, few offer solutions adapted and specialized to online B2B or multichannel commerce that are also open source.
Today, all over the world, more than 300 000 installations of all platforms (OroCommerce, OroCRM, OroPlatform) have been completed.

Why we became an OroCommerce partner?
As we did with OroCRM, Marello or FrontCommerce, we became an OroCommerce partner because Oro fits our philosophy of an open and professional platform. We are heavily involved in this platform to provide a tailored experience to merchants and their customers in Switzerland and Europe. The experience and knowledge gained from the creation and operation of Magento by Yoav Kutner and his team, are beneficial to provide merchants with a powerful solution to their needs.
We are an active partner, which means that we will participate in the continuous improvement of Oro’s platforms platforms, either by sending patches or improvement proposals, or indirectly by proposing services adapted to our target market.
We participate in knowledge sharing with the developer community and users to show our expertise, we co-organize for example events around Oro (the last one being the HackOro last March, co-organized with the company Kiboko) as we did for Magento with the Magento Hackathon for Magento with the Magento Hackathon or the Meet Magento Switzerland. We promote OroCommerce to our own network as we did at the beginning of April 2019 during the eCommerce show in Geneva. We plan to organize meetups and participate as a speaker at other eCommerce events.
Next steps
We are currently developing connectors for online payments specific to the Swiss and European market as well as for European market as well as for shipping and labeling.
A project to take over and redesign an Open Source support solution is underway, following the original editor. We will ensure compatibility with Oro’s current solutions.
